The Byte is a regular name brand marker with a 3D printed collar that allows for a super fat 8mm core to be epoxied in. (There are 8 bits in a byte, hence the name.) The collar is printed in ASA thermoplastic (acrylonitrile styrene acrylate) and completely replaces the colored plastic end of the marker. Therefore, when choosing your marker color you are essentially just choosing the cap color.
*Bytes are offered in titanium, stainless steel, and brass. None of these materials will etch glass/porcelain/etc.
